Client: Inspired Energy

The brief

Inspired Energy wanted to promote their Procurement service, which was their most suitable ‘entry level’ service, while also developing awareness of their wider services and creating the opportunity for upsell in the future.

They initially planned to do this by exhibiting and speaking at a series of live events throughout 2020, but the Covid-19 crisis led to the postponement of many face-to-face events.


The approach

Step 1 - Concept creation

The Marketing Pod developed the concept for a week-long, on-demand programme of digital events: On Demand Week. This way, delegates would be able to access sessions (live or at a time to suit them) from the safety and comfort of their homes. 

We created an agenda comprising 25 sessions over five days. Speakers included Inspired Energy’s own specialists and industry influencers from organisations like BEIS and National Grid ESO. Topics covered ranged from the impact of the coronavirus on energy markets to risk reduction and energy efficiency.


Step 2 - Promotion

On Demand Week was promoted through a targeted digital ad campaign across Inspired Energy’s social media channels. Users were directed to a dedicated landing page where they could register for the event, set up calendar reminders for live sessions, and book a 1-2-1 conference meeting with any of the speakers.


Step 3 - Event set up & support

On Demand Week was hosted on a platform that had been custom-built by The Marketing Pod’s digital team, who were on hand for support with any technical issues that may have arisen during the week (thankfully, none did!). 

After the event, all delegates received copies of the presentation slides and access to Inspired Energy’s content hub.


The result

Inspired Energy’s On Demand event ran from 11th-15th May 2020. During that time. the On Demand landing page received more than 3k unique visitors, 88% of which were new to the Inspired website. The landing page achieved an incredibly low bounce rate of only 1.5%.

Key stats:

  • 330 delegates pre-registered for the event 
  • The top 10 On Demand sessions have achieved more than 300 views to date.
  • 321 people have watched the most popular On-Demand session.
  • The lowest number of viewers for an On-Demand session to date is 265 - a testament to the consistently high quality of the content.
